Like most good ideas, MyTimesheets started with a simple problem: how do we make it easier for employees to record their hours and for employers to process them accurately?
Back in the early 2000s, before smartphones existed, my friend and now business partner, Raymond Davey, was already experimenting with ways to capture data digitally via text messaging. A conversation with him one day served as the catalyst for developing a "digital" tool to capture timesheet data.
The tool he created used text messaging, at the time, the most advanced option available on a cellphone. Employees could submit their hours and allocate time to specific tasks.
We called it TXT Timesheet.
It might seem basic now, but even back then, we were helping businesses track attendance and job costs without paper timesheets.
From Text Timesheets to MyTimesheets
Fast forward to today, and MyTimesheets is the great-grandchild of that original idea. What began as a clever way to move timesheets from paper to SMS has grown into a fully digital, mobile-optimised application designed for the way businesses work today.
